This is the story of Matthew Mingus who has been given the title “Boy of the Year” because of his amazing courage and strength getting through treatments for leukemia. This short film touches on his story told by his Mom Kat Mingus. She tells the story from her distinct perspective as a mom who started out as a volunteer with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society years before her son was diagnosed.
Marissa Shaffer, 12 years old, was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 2 3/4 yrs old. This is her story with interviews with her mom Camilla, dad Richard, and Marissa herself.
Nominated for Man of The Year Randy Ksar and his team 10K in 10 Weeks presents this short film based on Randy’s experiences during his 10 years with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (Team in Training).
